We are currently seeking a highly qualified Agile Project Manager to manage engineering campaigns projects from our New York office. Agile is a project management method that serves as an alternative to traditional methodologies, specifically within the field of software development. Additionally, this individual will be our liaison within Media Math and externally to help us roll out agile to the entire engineering organization.


Project management

  • Plan, manage and drive multiple project deliverables using agile software development processes for successful delivery of projects.
  • Communicates program initiatives and status across core business units. Develops and manages communication and coordination of cross functional teams across all areas. Defines and reports program roadmap, status, development issues and success metrics.
  • Work directly with Project, Product, QA, and Development teams to ensure that all targets and requirements are met.
  • Prepare and maintain program/project plans. Manages technical programs, projects and initiatives.
  • Shepherd prioritization discussions and maintain the communications framework for these discussions.
  • Work with the leads to draft the processes that allow the team to scale.
  • Constantly evaluate workflow, and identify opportunities to improve individuals and team efficiencies. Continual process optimization and works as a change agent.
  • Work with other department managers to meet the company’s project goals and objectives.
  • Maintain a high-level perspective on the overall team health and coach the team towards a vision/model for continual improvement.
  • Effectively and proactively communicate risks and issues to affected parties and actively participate in issue and conflict resolution.
  • Identify team/org friction, drive discussions toward productive change and takes corrective action, as appropriate.

Agile Liaison

  • Work with internal Media Math teams to ensure successful rollout of agile to the entire product and engineering organizations.
  • Be the point of contact for external teams (i.e. consulting company) to ensure MM deliverables are met on time and on target. (some of these deliverables could range from a maturity assessment, training material, agile methodology, standard processes, organizational design etc.)
  • Work with all stakeholders to support every stage of adoption, from the introduction of Agile and employee education, to fostering teams and cultures that practice Agile, to sustaining Agile methodologies and continually offering strategies for improvement.
  • Embody the Agile principles and lead by example.
  • Help work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and roll out the necessary solutions/tools to report on agile specific metrics.
  • Help develop Metric reporting requirements, including but not limited to: extracting data, analysis, and creation of presentations / formal reports for the entire EPG team to leverage to track adoption.

This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. As part of our global technology team, you may be required to be work off-hours or be on-call on a rotating basis. Other duties may be assigned, as needed. MediaMath retains the right to change job duties at any time.


Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering.
  • At least 3-5 years’ direct experience in project management for Software Development Projects.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Certified scrum master.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic environment.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Able to prioritize projects/deliverables with competing priorities and work seamlessly with various stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading complex hardware, software or application solution development projects.
  • Strong attention to detail, extremely well-organized, with superb time management skills.
  • Superb follow-through; propensity to approach tasks and goals with an ownership mentality.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority, Ability to develop and entrench change techniques in an organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to work well with teams & stakeholders; Excellent communication, leadership, written, verbal, problem resolution and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Experience with organization-wide performance/process improvements.
  • Skilled leading and working with geographically distributed teams.
  • Advanced problem analysis and problem solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with online advertising technology.
  • Software Development/Programming experience.
  • Exhibited competency managing projects in JIRA (or other software-based Project Management suites).
